Never Give Up – The Power of Positive and Negative Motivation

Today I want to talk to you about 3 things: positive motivation, negative motivation and the fact that you should never give up!

Every so often, every one of us feels sick and tired of the things we pursue. In fact, giving up is that final step you take before you find yourself at square one. Of course, there is always the experience of having tried something new, but not all of us know how to look beyond the grief of failure. Remember – there is no failure, only feedback. With this attitude, you will be able to go a lot further in life.

WARNING! Don’t Let Toxic People Into Your Life

As Wikipedia points it out, toxicity is the degree to which a substance can damage an organism. In this post I want to talk not about the toxicity of substances, but rather the toxicity of people. And although people are not substances, the damage that they can inflict can be a lot worse.

Toxic people have always existed around us. Some of us have only had an experience of dealing with them, while others need to interact with them on a daily basis. It may be your neighbor or someone you know, or it even may be your family member or your best friend turning into one. Regardless of who they are, the way in which they influence us, people seeking for happiness and piece, is nothing but negative. Based on experience I can say that if you care what other people around think of you, and you allow them to influence you, your mood may be destroyed even on the most blissful days, like your graduation day or marriage. That’s just what toxic people do, they find ways to push your button and pull you down.

Growth Mindset – Your Most Precious Asset on the Path to Success

Carol S. Dweck, a professor of psychology at Stanford University, claims that people can be divided into two major groups, those with a fixed mindset, and those with a growth mindset. She says the following:

They have a certain amount and that’s that, and then their goal becomes to look smart all the time and never look dumb. In a growth mindset students understand that their talents and abilities can be developed through effort, good teaching and persistence. They don’t necessarily think everyone’s the same or anyone can be Einstein, but they believe everyone can get smarter if they work at it.”

The question that inevitably then arises – should we change our life, or should we keep on trying?

Understanding Body Language is Your Absolute Must

Not so long time ago, I decided to improve my social skills. And while those involve a lot of public speaking, they also involve being able to better deliver our ideas in non-verbal ways. In other words, speaking and understanding body language is crucial.

I have always known that body language plays quite a significant role in communication, but because I have never really had any reason to analyse it any deeper, I knew nothing of the actual techniques and methods. Long story short, I bought a small book from Amazon on the subject of understanding body language that did a pretty good job in teaching some of the basics. As a result, in this post I want to share some of the key points that I picked up from the book.
