To begin with, I just want to let you know that in this Digital Course Academy review, I will be outlining the contents of the course at the end of the blog post. And why do I do it in the end, you might ask? Well, simply because it’s not hard to find other blog posts on the internet that lay out the contents of the DCA course without giving it much depth.

I, instead, think that it’s more interesting to explain to you why I even decided to make an online course in the first place, what were Digital Course Academy’s alternatives, how I feel about DCA in general, as well as Amy Porterfield as a teacher. I hope you enjoy my approach. 🙂

Why did I decide to make an online course?

Getting ahead of myself, I want to be completely transparent with you and tell that I have not yet finished my own online course. Not because I am lazy or because Amy is a bad teacher.. no, not at all. I’ve had some really challenging times in my personal life, which included me moving to another country. I also had a few other projects in progress that needed to be finalized first.

To add, Amy is actually a wonderful teacher. In fact, out of all the courses that I have taken, and I have taken quite a few, she is the most positive and the best at explaining things.. even a total newbie can understand what she is saying. I mean, if you look at what she has achieved, in terms of money and popularity, it kind of proves the hypothesis that she is absolutely AMAZING at what she does.

Now, you may be thinking to yourself, but Victor, you haven’t yet completed Digital Course Academy, your own course is not up, you don’t have results, so how can you be writing this Digital Course Academy review?!

Well, my friend, concerning the results, don’t worry, there are plenty of people in the DCA Facebook group that are earning 6 and even 7-figure incomes from their online courses. So you don’t have to be concerned about whether this course brings results or not.. it does, and it’s a fact.

Now, concerning the text that you are currently looking at.. my goal was to write a review of how I feel about the Digital Course Academy course in general, about how good or not good the content is (I have watched all of the modules), as well as Amy Porterfield as a teacher.

So why did I even decide that I want to create my own online course in the first place?

Well, as you know, we live in the Information Age. In my opinion, one of the best things about this time is that we can earn a living by working online.

Having an online business means that we get to do things that we truly love and care about right from the comfort of our home! Or from anywhere else, for that matter. It allows us to spend more time with our families, but also.. no less important.. an online business can create the abundance and wealth in our life that no 9-5 job could ever compete with.

For a long time, I thought that I don’t possess any knowledge that a person could ever pay me for. But after having analyzed what I know and written it all down on a piece of paper, I realized that I was wrong. In fact, thinking that we don’t have any “special” knowledge is a limiting belief that many of us have, and Amy talks about it as well.

In reality, we all know something that could be taught to others in exchange for money. This realization finally allowed me to believe that I am good enough to make an online course, too.

Choosing between Digital Course Academy and other courses

It all started when I was listening to an episode from one of my favorite podcasts. On that episode, they had a guest over that talked about how he has a course that teaches how to create online courses. He explained that there are A LOT of details in creating online courses, which is why it’s important to have someone teach you how to do it the right way.

For example, the most common issue is that you may spend 2 months creating an online course, just to find out that that you don’t know how to sell it, or even worse, that nobody wants to buy it.

The idea of creating an online course already then caught my attention. “Maybe someday…”, I said to myself. But it was clear that I would not be able to do it on my own.

A year or so after, I returned back to that podcast to find more about the course that the guest had mentioned. I found it on the internet, read all about it and then went on looking for other options, just to have something to compare to. I found quite a few different courses. One of them was from Amy Porterfield.

I also then found out that Amy has a podcast called Online Marketing Made Easy. I looked at the titles of the different episodes and found them to be exactly what I was looking for. I started going through the episodes all the way from the year 2015 until the last one; I binge listened to them. I was blown away by the presentation and how much insight Amy offered in every episode.

When the time had come to buy a program on how to create digital courses, I had 4 options to pick from. I started comparing all of them, but only Amy’s Digital Course Academy (DCA) was complete.

Instead of only showing how to create an online course, which is what all of the other options did, DCA also teaches HOW TO LAUNCH IT. This, of course, made it the number one choice for me. I went ahead and bought it.

At first glance, it may seem like launching isn’t that big of a deal, but trust me, it actually is. Now that I have seen the process from the inside, I must say that it is at least 50% of the whole game when it comes to selling digital courses for a living.

For example, if you have a small following, or no following at all, who are you going to launch the course to? Well, Amy covers this part. How are you going to do it? Are you just going to tweet to random people and offer them to buy your course? Do you think they will? Maybe if the course is $10, but what if it took you half a year to make that course and you put your soul into it, everything you know.. and then you price it at $2000 because that is what it’s worth. Will they buy the course then? Most likely not. However, if you can launch it properly, they will.

Now that I have seen what Digital Course Academy looks like, I am grateful that I went with the option. I am not saying that other programs are bad. Not at all. But what I am saying is that DCA is complete. You learn everything from point A all the way to point Z. Other similar programs, unfortunately, stop somewhere on point M, in my humble opinion.

Every once in a while you will have questions that are exclusive to your course creation process only. DCA simply may not have the answers that you are looking for. This is where the group comes in handy. Here, you will find about 10,000 members combined from all of the courses that Amy has ever made.

DCA review

To be honest, I haven’t seen a member Facebook group so active before when it comes to online courses. Any question that you will have will be answered by other members pretty much immediately.

What’s also really cool is that Amy goes live in this group every once in a while to answer the most frequent questions. Unlike many other “course creators”, she actually cares about her students even after they have paid. I appreciate that immensely.

So this was it for the Digital Course Academy review. I truly hope you found it useful and not too biased. As much as it may sound biased, I honestly think that this is one of the best and most in-depth courses out there, and Amy is one of the most talented teachers. Every word of this Digital Course Academy review was the truth on my part and not exaggerated a single bit.
