Smart Amazon FBA Seller Tools: AMZFinder Review

UPDATE! AMZFiner is no longer free!

As a global Amazon FBA seller, there are many things that I need to check on a daily basis… Well, if not daily, then at least a couple of times a week. This includes my sales statistics, stock, customer feedback, reviews, customer messages, etc. Of course, since there are altogether six countries that I sell in, you can probably imagine that sometimes it’s a pain.

But to make life easier, I have decided to look into some different Amazon FBA seller tools and what they are capable of. From the first glance, there are plenty of them on the market! These tools are supposed to automate Amazon FBA processes, simplify and to extend them.

My goal is to try out these products, figure out what their functionalities are, the benefits, disadvantages, and areas of improvement. I’ll simply share what I see. The first product that I decided to review is AMZFinder.

AMZFinder functionality

AMZFinder currently has three main functions.

1. Review management

Review management allows you to see all of the reviews in one place. So instead of having to go to Amazon seller central and browse through all six countries that I sell in and through all of my products, I am able to see it all at the AMZFinder dashboard.

If you get a negative review, you will see the status of that review as “pending”, which means it needs your attention. You can then choose whether you want to contact the seller for more info or not. After you have dealt with that review, you can change the processing status to “Done”.

2. Feedback requests

Feedback request is a really handy tool.

Yes, it’s true that Amazon does send out emails to buyers asking for feedback about the products they bought from you, but rarely do you actually get some feedback.

Fortunately, you are allowed to ask for feedback yourself. As a matter of fact, you can also ask for reviews. Yes, it is allowed. Here is what Amazon says about feedback requests:

“You may request feedback from a buyer, however you may not pay or offer any incentive to a buyer for either providing or removing feedback.”

Here is what Amazon says about review requests:

“You may ask buyers to write a review in a neutral manner, but you may not ask for positive reviews, ask for reviews only from buyers who had a positive experience, or ask a reviewer to change or remove their review.”

More info can be found at Amazon’s policy page here (own seller central account required).

Inside of AMZFinder dashboard, you can create your own review/feedback request template in the Settings > Email template page. If you want to see how it looks in reality, you can make a test request and send the email to your own email address. This is really handy if you want to make sure that the correct data is being inserted into your custom template.

Finally, you can choose how many days after the purchase you want your email to be sent out. This means that the process is automated, which is great. Alternatively, you can send the email manually yourself for a specific order at a specific time. This is an excellent option, and is what I prefer.

3. VAT invoicing

Because I sell in the EU, I often get requests for a VAT invoice, which I must be able to provide, since I am registered for VAT. This is a requirement by law.

Although there are online services (free and paid) that help you make the invoices, the process isn’t so easy and quick sometimes. You have to gather the correct information from Amazon, make sure the amount of deducted VAT is correct, etc. It does take some time, especially when the requests come in often.

AMZFinder is supposed to do this job for you, automatically. But unfortunately, this functionality is still incomplete due to the fact that you cannot specify your VAT rate, as well as the VAT inclusive and exclusive prices, which is something that should be visible on the invoice.

Advantages and areas of improvement

Advantages:

  • AMZFinder has a simple interface, easy to navigate through it.
  • AMZFinder can be used for free. You don’t have to pay if you are just starting out, but want to use their services.
  • They have a guide on the website that takes you through the setup process, as well an FAQ section. Easy to follow.
  • Their services are really straightforward and important for Amazon sellers.
  • Linking your Amazon seller central account to AMZFinder is really easy. Basically, it does all of the work for you. Some other apps require you to manually do the clicking.

Areas of improvement:

  • They have an AMZFinder application, which can be downloaded to your PC or Mac. I have a Mac, and I saw no benefit of using the app. As a matter of fact, I couldn’t copy/paste anything from and to the app, which completely killed the desire to use it. Their online version has the exact same functionalities.
  • On some of the days, their website is really slow or is not able to load. I get a server (504) error. This makes it hard to work with.
  • Synchronization of my reviews did not happen for a while. I thought at first that something went wrong when linking my account, but then all of a sudden they appeared all at once.
  • VAT invoices at this moment cannot be sent manually and do not have an option to add VAT inclusive/exclusive prices and rate.

Pricing

AMZFinder pricing is the following:

Feedback Request System Only 2000 $20
Feedback Request System + Review Management (Lifetime) 2000 $21
Feedback Request System Only 5000 $40
Feedback Request System + Review Management (Lifetime) 5000 $41
Feedback Request System Only 10000 $65
Feedback Request System + Review Management (Lifetime) 10000 $66
Feedback Request System Only 20000 $90
Feedback Request System + Review Management (Lifetime) 20000 $91
Feedback Request System Only 500 Free
Feedback Request System + Review Management (Lifetime) 500 $1

As I already mentioned, if you are just starting out and want to test out AMZFinder, you can get the Feedback request system for free, and get Review management for only $1. It’s totally worth it. 🙂

If you like what the software does, you can buy additional “Gold”. Gold is what you use for their services. One Gold means either one feedback request email or one VAT invoice email.

P.S. If you get the free plan, you get 500 Gold free every month.

Conclusion

All in all, AMZFinder is an easy to use tool that offers very fundamental functionalities that every Amazon seller needs. This is especially the case if you are selling multiple products in multiple countries.

Of course, there are a few bugs here and there, but it’s nothing major. The fact that you have to pay only $1 for their services makes me not care about the flaws.

Honestly, to make AMZFinder perfect for me, I would need the VAT invoicing function to be more complete.

I do understand, however, that if the option to send invoices manually is given, then people won’t need to buy so much Gold. But who knows, maybe AMZFinder will make it available. They do after all say themselves that: “There are also more functions from the customer service management system soon to be released, so please anticipate further updates.” Maybe the VAT sending option will be one of them. I’m optimistic.

I hope you found the AMZFinder review useful. If there are any other Amazon seller tools that you want me to review, just let me know about it in the comment section below.

  1. Great review of a review tool. Can this tool also be used for monitoring competition reviews or is it mainly for helping sellers manage their own reviews?
